Update

So summer is winding down, but the busyness of our lives is certainly not. School started up again down here so that is changing our youth ministry, we're trying to get back in the habit of visiting the kids at school during lunch and Danny has been very busy planning some events for this fall. We've definitely been facing some obstacles though. Youth group is now on Friday nights which doesn't seem to be a popular night to be at church, kids would much rather be out at the movies with friends. Also, the schools are enforcing some stricter policies about coming in to visit, we need to fill out paperwork and have background checks and all kinds of stuff that we weren't facing this past spring. But we know God is good and we know He has called us to love these kids. And we're having fun.

Since I last posted, we've painted some more rooms in the house (only like 5 more rooms to go), we finally got a dining room table (not that we've bought any chairs for it yet), and we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversery. This is a picture of us at Shelter Cove in Hilton Head.
In other news, the store manager at Pier 1 left, his last day was this past Thursday. We were all really sad to see him go because he was a great manager, but he's moving on to bigger and better things. Unfortunately that means that the rest of us managers are having to pick up the slack until they send us a new store manager. So I plan to spend way too much time at Pier 1 in the next few weeks, I'm not looking forward to it. That also leaves me little to no time to search for a new job, which I still do want to do.
Pray for strength and energy for us both during this busy time of our lives!

Happy anniversary you guys! (we say it that way in NJ) You look nice and lovey-dovey in the photo. How did you celebrate? Three years? Yikes! I am way too old!

Hope they move you off of Friday nights soon for youth group - talk about a recipe for low attendance!

Mary, please take care of your knees and health at the job. Don't want those extra hours to do you harm! (Just make you rich!)

Have you had your first party at your home yet?

Will you be coming north for Thanksgiving or Christmas, or will Pier One & COTC keep you hostage? (Hint: say no!)

Miss you a lot!

I was just about to leave a comment that i don't believe in family blogs anymore since I hadn't seen any updates here lately and Daddy only blogged once and has not updated since :) I'm glad you're still around. I guess it must be hard to blog if you barely have any time to see youth group kids or search for a job. We'll be praying for you Peachy and Danny!
